LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, October 13, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Simple Steps Fertility Surrogacy and Egg Donation, in partnership with the American Cancer Society, will offer complimentary one-on-one fertility preservation consultations with board-certified reproductive endocrinologists at both Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® of Greater Los Angeles walks this month: Saturday, Oct. 17 at Citadel Outlets in Commerce, and Saturday, Oct. 24 at the Santa Monica Pier.

The initiative, launched during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, addresses a persistent gap in cancer care. One in eight U.S. women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, and a growing number are diagnosed during their childbearing years. Cancer treatment can affect fertility, and the window to preserve it is often measured in weeks. Amid urgent treatment decisions, many patients never have a fertility conversation at all, and learn too late what their options were.

"A cancer diagnosis brings so many urgent decisions, and questions about fertility and future family-building often get lost in the moment," said Tina Sarkisyan, Founder and CEO of Simple Steps Fertility. "By bringing fertility specialists directly to Making Strides, we want patients to leave feeling connected, informed, and hopeful about what may be possible for their future families."

At each walk, attendees can meet privately with a fertility specialist to discuss how treatment may affect fertility and which family-building options may be available at any stage of diagnosis, treatment, or survivorship, including egg freezing, embryo preservation, surrogacy, and egg donation.

Participating physicians and registration:
Oct. 17, Citadel Outlets (Commerce): Dr. Susan Nasab, a board-certified OB-GYN and fellowship-trained reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) specialist with expertise in oncofertility. Dr. Nasab completed her REI fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, practices with San Diego Fertility Center while leading Celenova Fertility, and collaborates with cancer centers including City of Hope.

Oct. 24, Santa Monica Pier: Dr. Lina Akopians, a double board-certified OB-GYN and REI specialist and founder of Beverly Hills Reproductive Center. Dr. Akopians completed her residency at UCLA and her REI fellowship at UCLA/Cedars-Sinai, and is fluent in Armenian, Farsi, and English.

Appointments are limited and advance registration is encouraged; walk-up visits are welcome. The Simple Steps Fertility team will be on site at both events to welcome attendees, facilitate consultations, and share resources, and will follow up after each walk to connect attendees, with their permission, directly to the physician's office for continued support.

"Family building is about so much more than the medical process," Sarkisyan added. "It is about creating a more informed, responsible, and compassionate path to parenthood. No woman walking at Making Strides should have to wonder, alone, whether a family is still possible for her."

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer brings together survivors, caregivers, families, and communities while funding the American Cancer Society's research, advocacy, and patient support services.

Photos, b-roll, and interviews with Tina Sarkisyan and the participating physicians are available upon request.
